As of January 1, 2005, Dr. Charles H.Thornton, Ph. D., P.E. has founded a new company, Charles H. Thornton & Company LLC. (CHT & Co). The firm will offer specialized services in Strategic Consulting in the areas of management/marketing, concept structural design and structural investigative/expert witness services. Dr. Thornton has brought together a team of skilled and knowledgeable professionals in various disciplines to offer hands on management and engineering expertise. In addition, engineering support will be provided by Thornton-Tomasetti Group (TTG). The team is committed to our mission of making our client firms more competitive and successful.

Dr. Thornton has spent over 40 years with Thornton-Tomasetti Group (TTG) and its predecessor firms. During his tenure, he provided the leadership to allow the firm to grow from a 50 person local firm to a 500 person, global engineering firm with gross revenues over $60,000,000. He recently has been involved in the successful transition of the ownership of the company to a new generation of partners.

Dr. Thornton has been recognized for his introduction of both innovative engineering solutions and management strategies. Under his guidance, the firm opened 10 offices throughout the United States and developed a multi service approach to the engineering, architectural and construction industries. In addition, Dr. Thornton and his firm have become an internationally known leader in their industry and is ranked 150 in the ENR top 500 design firms.
